Honoured to have played a double role at Horizon Deep Tech Summit 2025 in Madrid this year: moderator an judge of the Entrepreneurship Competition.Judging 30 startup pitches was no easy task – the overall level was outstanding. From HealthTech to Defence to SpaceTech, many teams were led by scientists and PhDs bringing groundbreaking technologies from lab to market. After deliberations with fellow judges Davor Stipancic and Vlad Darius Danciu and Juan Gasca Aristeguieta, we selected three impressive winners: ST3DT (3D‑printed bioinert hybrid stents for CLTI patients), Grasshopper Air Mobility (autonomous heavy‑cargo drones for cold‑chain and Industry 4.0 logistics), and AIRWAY SHIELD (a new intubation aid combining airway stabilization, tube guidance and infection protection in a single device).The combined prize pool exceeded €100K.A huge thank you to Futuro Perfecto and the whole Horizon Deep Tech Summit team for curating such a high‑quality forum for founders, investors and policymakers.
